The Rhino Network License is managed due to the Zoo License Manager, which is used as the license server and provides licenses to users on the local network. The Zoo License Manager is necessary when Rhino users exceed the number of purchased licenses.

What’s new in Rhino 7

Rhino 7 is the most significant update in the history of Rhinoceros. Now you can create organic shapes with the help of SubD tools and run Rhino and Grasshopper as a Revit® add-on using Rhino.Inside.Revit. Also, users can try the QuadRemesh algorithm to create a quad mesh from NURBS geometry.

Completely new modeling technologies have been applied, and many existing processes and functions have been improved in this version.

SubD

SubD is a new type of geometry that allows you to create and edit highly accurate organic shapes quickly.

Unlike other geometry types, SubD combines the accuracy of modeling with no limits and the ability to edit the created models quickly.

Rhino.Inside

Rhino.Inside allows creators to use the great opportunities of Rhino and Grasshopper in the Autodesk Revit® and BricsCAD® BIM environment.

QuadRemesh

Quickly create a quad mesh from existing surfaces, solids, meshes, and SubDs.

An ideal tool for visualization, animation, gas dynamic calculations, FE analysis and reverse engineering.

Presentation

In Rhino 7, presentation tools have been improved, and the rendering engine has been updated and simplified.

Developers added support for PBR materials, LayerBook command, and many other features.

Model display

The Rhino 7 graphics system takes advantage of the latest capabilities of modern graphics hardware and provides even more excellent performance when processing 3D models on Windows and Mac platforms. Improved display modes will make the appearance of your models more spectacular and attractive.

Documentation

Modeling is only a part of the design process. You also need to show how to do models displayed on the screen. Therefore, a lot of attention is paid to creating working documentation when developing Rhino. The new version includes improved illustration tools, like transparent and gradient hatching.

Grasshopper

Rhino 7 adds new components and makes converting existing programs to plugins easier.

Development Platform

Rhino 7 includes significant improvements to the free SDKs, including an API, documentation, and some important new features that expand and deepen the development platform.

Other changes

Rhino 7 fixes hundreds of bugs and adds tools and features such as named selections, shape-making, and engraving fonts. Support for file formats created in other applications has also been improved.
